Fabric manufacturing is one of the most essential part of apparel manufacturing and the manufacturing process of fabrics can be really interesting. We are often interested about the manufacturing process of lot of things those we are using on daily basis and clothing is one of those things. Though there are different process to do it but for large and small scale production procedures are pretty similar. Yet there is some difference between them. Fabric manufacturers has to go with many procedures which are complex and extensive process of machine.
What is Fabric?
Fabric is something that is produced by weaving and knitting
textile fibers and yarn. Similarly, yarn manufacturing also has to go with
different settings and procedures. The term fabric can be defined as a
structured yarn which are knitted or weaved to interlock fibers. Knitting and
weaving have different procedure where weaving is the intersection of two sets
of straight yarns and wrap and weft. Knitting is form of yarns into loops.
There are various types of fabrics being used in the clothing industry and all
of them has to go with different procedures.
Manufacturing process
of Fabrics in Large Scale
At the beginning we have to choose some different types of
raw materials for producing fabrics and the most important one is the yarn.
Cotton, silk, Flex, wool and Rayon are some of the most common fibers with what
we make yarn and with those we make fabric. If silk fiber is used, then we call
them silk fabric and if we use cotton yarn to make fabric then that is called
cotton fabric.
We are not going to discuss from cotton to cotton fabric but
we are going to discuss about the weaving only where I am going to discuss
about how is it made into fabric from yarn.
Warping
After the production of yarn which is set into a cones and
cheese is taken into a machine called wrapper. The wrapping machine predetermine
the length of the number of the yarn and they are weaved into beams into
constant tension.
Sizing
Sizing is another crucial part of making fabric and wrapping
beams piled up for rewinding which completes the process of drying and sizing
together. In this process, fabrics are made smooth and eliminated all the extra
part.
Drawing In
To prepare for setting beams wraps are routed in the order
of droppers. This process is continued with shear awareness and they are drawn
in with the most visible texture.
Weaving
In the final stage weaving starts in which processed and
purified yarns are weaved to give it a form of fabric which in latter it will
be used to make apparel. Weaving is a process of looping all the yarn into one
big form of thing.
In short, manufacturing process goes into different style.
There are various steps to complete the process like warping sizing, drawing
and finally weaving. All these process are typical to manufacture fabric to
make apparel and for good finishing. So the above mentioned process are the
manufacturing process of Fabric.
